SRS Fault Code 5 200 1992

Seems like it's one thing after another these days. This morning in the process of replacing a burnt headlight bulb, the SRS light came on and stayed on. I ran the fault code procedure and got 5 blinks - which I believe means "Airbag Assembly Resistance High". I wasn't fiddling with anything in/under the dash or near the steering column, only around the headlamp. From reading a few things, I take the problem to possibly be an open circuit somewhere, but I have no idea on how to address the problem. What should I be looking for and where to fix this? As a result of some other minor glitches, I suspect my ignition switch is balky. Could this have anything to do with it? Also, I've been disconnecting and reconnecting the battery ground frequently over the past few days doing other repairs - if that means anything.

Also, I tried and tried to clear the code and get the light to go out, but it would always come back on and stay on. Suggestions are much appreciated.
