E code installation 700 1991

I have picked up 2 sets of E-Codes for my 91 740 & 940 wagons. These are a 2 lamp system w/ hi/lo combined in one capsule. They also have the fog lights included.

Looking at Daniel Sterns lighting site he talks about using relays as a better way to get the current to the healights. Both my cars are Canadian & have headlight relays. They also have daylight running lights but it is the actual headlights that are powered not some small secondary light.
- What is the highest wattage headlight bulb you can run safely in the stock wiring harness w/o cooking something? I like the 55w/100 bulbs for legal low beams & real light to see on high.
-Has anyone run the euro daylight running lights instead of what I currently have & how did you wire it?
