Preventing Puckering - Found Newer Door Panels!!! S90-V90

I was at a Volvo shop today, and picked up four interior door panels for a really great price. They have very little puckering yet, and I am considering running a fine line of epoxy or super glue all along the upper edge.

The only thing in the way is the black weather stripping, and the metal clamp that runs the entire length of each door that holds the interior weather stripping in place. The weather stripping comes off, but the long metal clamp seems to be on there firmly. Is it advisable to remove this, and if so how?

Anyone have any ideas on how to prevent the puckering on these early stage door panels? Ideas appreciated here, as I have to put them in in a couple of days, and I plan to sell the old ones at a car show later this week. I will be posting this on the 900 page as well in the event someone there has some experience here.
