I dunno which is worse; the vulnerability you felt, or the 240 series lacking a screen on the cowl, leading to rocker panel compost heaps. I know I would not like getting bits of oily foam blown at me or the headliner falling down, but I suppose the 7/9 folks have no desire to change 240 blower motors. The biggest driver of my model preference is the availability of factory information coupled with all that btdt 240 experience.

Hope your head is OK, and (I guess) make sure the stress is off the plastic when you install it (and watch that hose clamp muscle), keep the pressure low with the 240 rez cap, and consider a coolant level sensor, like from a 960 rez, or one of the magnetic float sensors added-on.

Also don't know why I have this, but my MIL had a 940 for awhile. Wonder how much better is the one the dealer is selling? McDuck (I think) mentioned these are generic parts used by GM as well.
