Painting radiator/vacuum hoses? 200 1992

Greetings from Texas. "Howdy ya'll"

I had a friend come over to use my garage when I was doing an oil change on my 1992 245 last weekend. One of the coolant hoses in his pontiac grand am had busted and he was replacing it with a new one. Before installing, however, he spray-painted the hose with a primer and then with red spray paint. This is fascinating to me since I am considering replacing most if not all of the (likely OEM) vacuum hoses. Also, I figure I could do the same treatment to the radiator hoses when I tackle the head gasket this fall.

Is using any sort of paint on radiator/vacuum hoses a good idea?

Also: calling brickboard member "It Rolls". I noticed you're located in Irving, which is moderately close to my home in Dallas. I would send you a private message, but the forums here don't accommodate for that. It'd be great to meet up and talk volvo!
