Update 700

First of all, thanks again to all responders!

After my careful forensic analysis yesterday, I am still convinced that it was a short to chassis at the Alt output wire...I related this to my local independent Volvo specialist today and ordered the required hoses from him...then he offered me a used FI harness...and in his stash he had a 90 740T...so I bought it...with the intent of harvesting the necessary connectors...upon inspection tonight, I found that there were inconsistencies with the color codes, which surprised me, but I was able to harvest the connectors for TPS and ICV I need...I may prepare them for installation tonight...the plan is to replace all of the toasted wires by splicing soldering and heatshrinktubing over the junction...an interesting clue which I have not reconciled yet is the massive quantities of green corrosion on the starter side of the break in the Alt output wire...I am working on a theory...

That's it for now...time to head into the lab...come along Igor...
