Transmission or Fuel Relay Issue - Automatic 240DL 200 1988

Nothing directly that you've done is causing your current problem. The oil leak fixes are not related. Additionally, it's not caused by the fuel relay as that is a Go or NoGo situation if that isn't working.

Question: When the car won't go past 20mph can you rev the engine in nuetral to much higher RPM's? In other words try to isolate the engine speed away from the car speed to help identify where the cause is.

I might say your problem is either Air Mass Meter or Catalytic Converter related. Probably not transmission. Others will have more tests you can do, I'm sure.
