Speedo pointer broke 200 1985

Because my speedo cable is off a little, my speedo pointer fluctuates wildly. And on my way up to Idaho yesterday, it broke off.

Is that something that can be superglued back together?

RE: My trip.

I made it in one piece (sav for the pointer).

The good.

With a car chuck full of food and clothes and misc stuff, I averaged 29.59 MPG for the first 220 miles of the trip (I haven't filled up since then...and it's more hilly for the 2nd half of the trip).

My OD worked like a dream.

There were no odd smells or sounds coming from the car.

The so-so.

Parking my car in our dirt driveway (up a hill) I jammed some dirt into the exhaust pipe. But it came out with a tap of the foot.

The speedo pointer as above.

The annoying/bad:

It did have an issue of going into 1st and 3rd. I think it's more like it's not fully going INTO gear. Maybe the mount isn't tight enough, I don't know. After a while, going through the gears at a red-light, it all the sudden worked perfectly fine. It only did this after 360 miles of driving, and only did it twice, about 2 miles apart (going 15 mph...or so I assume. SEE: Speedo pointer
broke).

The funny:

Trying to figure out how fast you're going with only 1/4 inch of the pointer still there.

I'm stealing internet from across the lake, so shhh..don't tell the owners! SO I might not get to this for a while.
