i have that console in my 66 220.i like it better than the wire basket which was there previous and it does not interfere with the seat belt operation.I was able to firmly secure it to the tunnel even with the rear heater duct.It is impossible to place a cup of coffee anywhere on or in it though.The box is to narrow and deep and the front section is angled from the shifter to the box but very useful otherwise.
