I had thought that I would also be able to operate the clutch by hand. I tried zip-ties around the end and around a tie down strap I had in the trunk. It was not enough to release the clutch though and just caused the zip ties to snap. Even if it were strong enough, you would need some super human strength to release it.

Well, looks like I'll head off to the pull and pay to see if I can get a cable off without damaging it or me in the process.
