o/d disconnect best practice? 120-130

Hi,

I have just managed to finish off my slipping overdrive with a bit of enthusiastic jousting with a '72 Cooper S. Now, I need to swap my overdrive. Question is, do I seperate the o/d from the box at the box end of the intermediate housing, or, at the wider, o/d end? Maybe it doesn't matter, can't really see why it does.

Thankyou one and all. And apologies to anyone reading similar on a UK site...I have to get on it asap and you guys are just sort of starting your day...

cheers
Dave
