'U' joints not volvo specific

I swore it was Rubber.. But a towing of a large boat apparently brought the problem to a Head. Now dad has clunking . Gotta be 'U' joints. They felt good the other night but I have had a 'U' joint go from quiet to breaking in 18 miles. At least the aftermarket ones will have Zerk fittings. Picking those up today. In the mean time, the car is parked.
Better the cheap and easy joints as opposed to finding out the Transfer case has issues.
