Thread Chaser? 700 1990

Hi All
I was changing out my first Tailshaft bushing/bearing last weekend. The only thing that went wrong was the Transmission drain plug had been overtightened by the PO. It felt way tight when removing so I kinda worked it back and forth while loosening and it did come out...but in looking at the plug I can see where it rolled over the first thread and looks like it pushed the rest slightly towards the tip, though evenly spaced. I am considering two options.
1)Simply get a nice new drain plug and put some teflon tape on it and gently screw her in.
2)Get a thread chaser and see if I can clean it up a bit first.
If I opt for #2 I need to know the size, M10?
Anyone out there try this?
Matt
