1990 740 Turbo Wagon - product code decode help 700

The closer I look at this, the less it makes sense:

According to the product plate codes here:

http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/700ModelData.htm#VehicleIdentificationNumberCoding

The 2nd line, 2nd digit is the transmission. If the digits go right to left, the code is 0, which is not listed. Trying left to right, the code is 7 which is AW 70/71/72 without lockup. Hey, could be, I don't really know.

OK, lets stick with left-to-right decoding. Then 4th line 1st digit is the brakes, but 9 or 5 is not listed. A right-to-left 2 is Girling, but then why change from left-to-right to right-to-left?

What am I doing wrong? All I really want to know is what kind of brakes I have.
