headlight replacement and yellow lens 200 1989

It’s not that my front headlights need replacing at this moment, but in the event they do, is /are there some sort of brighter/better replacements? I note some vehicles use those halogen ones, but I have NO idea if my ‘89 wagon would be able to have that installed, and if so, is there any “issue” about installing those “bright-er ones” ? Oh, and if they are available, are they much more pricey?

While I’m on the subject, sort of, here’s another ? --a friend has an ‘86 DL sedan, one of his headlight lens is very yellow. I have seen those bottles of chemicals in local parts place that claim they can turn the lens back to normal. Thoughts?
Thank you.
