Changing brake shoes: parking brake pin? 120-130

In the middle of refreshing the rear (wagner) brakes. The good news is the drums came off with relative ease (if you can call 10 whacks from an engineers hammer on the puller anvil "ease"). The stickey wicket I am faced with at the moment is the parking brake arm. It looks to be riveted to the rear shoe. It's pretty obvious it needs to get transfered to the new (arm-less) shoe, but how should it be attached? The only other drum brakes I've poked around in used a removable pin and clip to make this connection. If I grind down the rivet to get it free, how do I attach it again?
