front door speaker options 200 1992

I have a 92 240 wagon with power windows. Both speaker housings, which were riveted to the door, have cracked and failed. Is there a current replacement speaker available that will fit without the factory housing? I ordered a set that Crutchfield said would work and they won't sit flush without the factory housing to take up the space in the depression in the door panel. Do I need to find new housings?
