I can understand your dilema well. Our '89 wagon has been in the family for about 6 years now. I know all the ins and outs of it. It would be difficult for me to sell it for another 240 wagon that seems to be in great condition. ours is in great condition because I have taken care of it. Remember also, as I think some are trying to point out-time itself causes problems. 3k per year isn't much but its still been in the ravages of time perhaps without the care you have given your current brick. Since it hasnt been driven much, its understandable it may look great-but appearances can be deceiving. I agree many of the rubber componets may be up for change, and the even the suspension parts can dry out-rust even. My choice? id keep what you have. Too bad you cant do both. If you go for the "new to you" one Id be prepared to be working on it for some time to come. The more you "coddle" your brick, the more it will give back to you, driving it only 3k a year really isn't coddling it. Volvos have a soul, and they need love and attention just as we do. BTW if the paint looks great maybe because its been sheltered/garaged, if you dont have shelter for it, be prepared to watch the paint start oxidizing, and btw , greys-silvers-are among the worst for paint longevity. Personal experience speaking- and I do keep it waxed. Good luck whatever you decide.
