Automatic Transmission Neutral Start Switch 140-160

Hello Everyone,

Well, I got the BW35 out and the M40 in my 1973 142E last weekend, along with all the necessary ancillary parts. I'd love to take this thing on a test drive now, but I can't get the starter to engage. I've been trying to figure this one out on my own, without posting to brickboard, but I just can't seem to get it to work.

Do I need to rewire or remove a circuit to disable the automatic transmission neutral start switch? Is it possible that the automatic neutral start switch is even a factor in this situation? If so, please explain what I need to do to disable this switch's effect on the ignition system.

Thank you in advance,
Colin
