Air Box Thermostat "foam' 200 1990

After reading about the air box termostat, I went home and tore out mine and looked at it. It is original and the foam around the door that opens and closes is shot. Do I have to buy a whole unit to get just the foam? I think the unit is good and seems to work, but there is not "seal" when the door closes. Help, anyone?
