Two Timing belts in 3 months, among other things... 200

Well my GF of 3 years and co-survivor of my 240 rollover "accident" will not let her grasp of her 93 850 weaken. There is a plethora of failures and repairs done to this car and yet it still costs far less than monthly payments. April 20th we had a timing belt break while at 65mph... Interference indeed, fellas... $2,000 worth. Since she has developed a good relationship with the 2nd-in-command at a Volvo dealership it only cost us $800 and got some struts and strut mounts out of it, too.

My 92 has plenty of poly around it and I was not satisfied. Some guy on eBay wanted to go back to factory spec on his 200 series and I got his ipd 25,25 sways and lowered springs. Later, I discovered two 79 GT's and snagged the tower bars and reinforcement plates. WOW... no joke about THAT upgrade, night and day.

So on my way home from work my car shuts down and I pop the hood stick my finger into the hole in the timing belt cover and I can feel the tensioner is freely spinning. I hitched a ride home to get the wagon 240 and set up a repair shop on the side of the road. Got to the point where the balancer bolt was in need of an impact and I allowed my GF to tow me home (her first time). When I got the belt out, I noticed it was WAYYYYY beyond a "maintenance interval". I'm thinking perhaps the original one? 300,000 miles? This possible?

But like with every upgrade to these old cars just exasperates the NEXT weakest link... this time the motor mounts are biting the dust and I can't shift easily into 5th.
I guess I'll ask a question to the brickers... I just replaced the VR brushes and I'm still getting a 50% or less on the charge... what else impedes the charge?
