real world value 200

In May 2010 My Daily Driver 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 90K well maintained miles was seriously damaged by a tree that fell on it in a freak windstorm while parked in a relative's driveway. The Brick was home in the garage....
Amazingly homeowners does not cover this type of claim, I had to go through my own auto insurance. GEICO effectively totaled the truck, but the adjuster was great in utilizing comps. Locally they could not come up with a 14 year old vehicle with less than 100K miles in this good of a shape. I have to say they bent over backwards with the rental car, the claim, and giving me enough salvage value money to get the truck repaired. The interior and engine compartment alone were enough for the adjuster to realize this was no clunker. My advice is get the repair estimate and fight for at least that. Also, my title is not a branded salvage title for whatever reason. So, I still have my daily driver...Brick is my "weekend/fun" car.
