1993 240 idle issues.. a mystery! 200

An open reading on a secondary coil when using a low end ohm meter can happen due to the associated inductance (the main purpose of the coil), some Ohm meters can't deal with it and just give up.

Sorry, I can't recall the secondary resistance value of the coil, but if you put a resistor with a similar resistance (identical is ideal), and then hook the ground terminal of the coil to the negative battery terminal and the other end of the resistor to the positive battery terminal, you should be able to measure the voltage across the resistor. If the coil is okay, you should roughly see half of the battery voltage, if you read zero Volts, the coil is truly open. Note, give the coil a few seconds to charge up so you can get a proper reading.

Also make certain that the screw heads and inner fender well are clear of rust on the ignition amp, oxidation at those points WILL significantly reduce secondary coil voltage.
