Check Engine Light from Wrong Gas 200

Goatman is correct. The 87 octane gas did not set the check engine light. Since it was set just after your fill up I would check and make sure the gas cap is properly tightened. A loose or missing gas cap will cause the check engine light to come on. As he said check for the OBD 1 code/s. That's always a good place to start when you get a check engine light.

Just had another thought. Is it a check engine light or a service light? Their is a difference. The service light come on as soon as you start the engine and then goes out.
