Speedo flaked out & died on P1800 Speedo w/ BW35 140-160

I was driving back to my house last night when, going about 40mph, I started to accelerated lightly, just meaning to bring my speed up to 45mph, the speedo did what I am long familiar with seeing on my 240's----It jumped up 10mph, down 10, down 20, up 10ish, then dropped to 0. It refused to work the 3/4 of a mile to my house.

I'm not familiar with exactly where on the BW35 the speedo gear is located so I can take a look. I'm also dealing with the underside of a '73 p1800es.

The last few months I have noticed the speedo "wavering" a tiny, tiny bit when at constant speeds. Did I just finish off the speedo gear, or did the Smiths guage decide to go....I've heard they are a little finnicky.

Thanks everyone

---Jay
