inline fuel pump removal 200 1989

have put aside the battery/parking/brake light dash on thing for moment to change out the dead main fuel pump.
any tips or gotchas i should look out for or know? looks like some rusted phillips screws attaching the pump strap, etc. will gas flow out when i remove tank hose etc?
