OK, pulled the rear window on my 1980 242 during a recent full body respray. Reinstalled the glass with a new rubber gasket according to the instructions and procedures in the factory service manual "Green Book." Nothing unusual, just the regular procedure of "roping" it in. Manual says to similarly "rope in" the chrome trim moulding. Me and another guys have been wrestling for more than 2 hours with what should be a very simple task. What tricks are we missing or what are we doing wrong ?
