A penny saved is a door pocket saved 200 1990

Are your door pockets cracked and splitting? Mine were. One night, I took mine off and laid them on my workbench. I realized I had a little pile of pennys setting in a jar lid that I probably took out of an ashtray or something. It occurred to me that I could put them to good use. I took my trusty "Gorilla" glue and spread a very little on the penny and then inside the pocket where the split began and clamped it. Moving on, I repeated this to cover the several cracks and when dry, I painted them with my "camel" color SEM Color Coat. They look like new and are reinforced forever. P.S. I also drilled a hole opposite each screw to allow a screwdriver to go to the two screws which help hold the pocket to the door, which for me was always a pain in the butt. Good idea?
