Broken exhaust stud delemma.

Hello brickboard.

I drove my beloved 1987-740 to my normally trusting repair shop today for removal of a broken exhaust stud from the head. This afternoon I learned that The "extraction tool", they used, broke off in the stud!

The service manager said other "extraction tools" ,for completing the job, are available at his home. He will attempt to complete the job in the am.
Does anyone have an idea of what those "other tools" might be? Should I have faith that this job will be completed sucessfully(without bankrupting me)? Or should I cut my losses, retrive my car, remove the head and deliver it to the machine shop myself?

If I do proceed on the "do it myself" route, It will be my first time having the head off a b230. I dont see a problem getting it off, and back on, the only thing that worries me is the valve adjustment. Should I worry about that? Ive checked the clearances, a time or two, but they've always been right on.

Darn!

Thanks BB.
