check engine 2-1-2 OBD code 200 1993

Looking for some advice- the 1993 240 has had a check engine light come on frequently. The OBD code is 2-1-2 (02 sensor) so when I was at my trusted mechanic, I said, 'hey can you check this out- it shouldn't be the 02 sensor, I just replaced it 4k ago with a Bosch one. Returned and he said, oh- it was the 02 sensor. My daughter took the car to college and didn't tell me the check engine was on the whole time she was away. Back on break, the OBD is 2-1-2 again. Could it be a clogged CAT? I reset the light and when idling for a while in traffic, etc it will come back on. Your wisdom is appreciated!
