X Prize Car

Edison2 won the $5 million mainstream x prize by being a four seater, four wheeled car which gives more than 100mpg and has a range of more than 200 miles (actual 600 miles). What I found interesting was that it runs on E85 gas, is RWD and looks like a jet plane on wheels. The engine is 250cc single cylinder bike unit producing 40bhp. It can not be that bad to open up. Car has AC, heating and ipod connectivity. Another interesting thing is that designers think the nimbleness of this car is one of the security features of the car, I totally agree with that.

Their site http://www.edison2.com/ has lot of information.

This link shows some photographs.

Their cradle to grave sustainability is also great. http://www.edison2.com/sustainability/

Well if the cost is about 10-15K then it is a true winner in my eyes.

Regards,
