Interior windsheild trim on 1989 240 DL Sedan 200 1989

As you can easily see, that top piece is secured in place with several small phillips head screws. I just removed one of these strips today on my '83 245. I, too, had some sealant sticking the trim in place. I removed all the screws. I have an upholstery tool that has a curved end that is good for prying. I've seen these in auto parts stores. Beginning at one end, I worked both sides of the trim either toward the center or towards the opposite end of the trim. The screws fasten onto a clip. This clip slips onto raised slot in the body above the windshield. Perhaps a hair dryer might loosen up the adhesive enough to make pulling the trim away easier. I'm assuming you have removed the rear view mirror. Good luck.

For the fun of Volvos,
Mike
