Car won't start - ignition trouble 200 1991

So, my good old and very faithful 1991 240 has failed me for the first time a few weeks ago, while taking my kid to the kindergarten. All went normal that morning until I tried starting it after parking for 10 minutes in front of the kindergarten, when it simply would not start anymore.

My 240 has a B230F engine with an LH Jetronic 2.4 control unit.

A quick diagnose from my regular mechanic (he is no Volvo expert, he is just the guy who changes brake pads, dampers and so on) revealed I had no spark.

The LED OBD that the car has on the driver’s side engine bay gives no valid result, namely after I turn the ignition on, put the jumper lead in either socket number 6 or 2 and press the button for more then 1 second (under 3 seconds, I know), I get no flash from the LED, even though the LED lights up when I press the button.

Ever since, I tried replacing (with new or proved good parts from a friend's 740) the following:
- crank speed sensor - no result

- ignition transistor unit - no result

- ignition coil - no result

- LH Jetronic fuel computer - no result

I am currently trying this saturday to replace the EZ116K ignition computer with a good unit and see if this solves it but something tells me it's not this.

Any other ideas are welcome.

Thank you.
