removal of "glare strip' off window sills

I had a friend, who hand-paints pinstripes, come to my garage and use an eraser wheel to take off the glare-strip decal off my window sills. It worked like a charm and is nice looking but now I am not sure I want to have him put on new ones. There is a slightly noticeable difference in the paint but the car has been garaged at home and work for 21 years. This is the way to remove the decal and I recommend it but it looks easier than it is to do. It takes a "touch" to really be able to go through it quickly. All I had to do is remove the trim/window scrapers and mirrors. Easy enough.
