starting 200 1987

I recently bought a 1987 240 (fuel Injection) and when i start it in the morning for the first time and attempt to warm it up the engine will stall out. So I now i have to start it put it in gear and give it a lot of gas to get it going but once i drive down the street the car runs fine. I was told that it was possibly the choke. Does anyone else have this problem and possibly know how to fix it?
