Adding Tach, Oil Pressure and Volt gauges.. wiring question. 200 1989

Hi Everyone,

I have a 1989 240DL that I have to fix the odometer gear in. Since the dash is going to be torn apart, I thought I'd add some gauges to get a better feel about what's happening under the hood.

I have some questions about how to hook the new gauges up. In turn:

1) Tach. I think its simply a matter of unhooking the existing clock, mounting the tach and attaching the already existing tach wires that are currently tucked somewhere behind the clock? Is that correct?

2) Oil Pressure. For some odd reason my car has the oil pressure sending unit, but no pressure gauge in dash. So I got the correct gauge. I'm assuming I just need to run a wire from the terminal on the pressure sender to the correct terminal on the pressure gauge and then ground the gauge completing the circuit? If my car had the sending unit installed, would there be existing wiring?

3) Voltmeter. This one I'm lost about. Does it come off an alternator terminal to gauge then ground? Again would there be existing wiring like the tach?

I've looked at several wiring schematics for my car, and some are really confusing. I've installed stereos in cars before, but I'm really not a mechanic.. just a wannabe. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. I know there's a way to do things... then there's a "way" to do things..
