Thanks again Guid. This car does not have cruise control so can't test that. Odometer works fine even with speedo going haywire. So I guess my speedo itself is bad. Looked on e bay - not a cheap part - nearly $150. Actually rear speed sensor on differential is about same. So either way regardless of which end is bad it's a $150 repair. As problem comes and goes what I think I will do is wait until I can find a cheap complete cluster with speedo. That way besides speedo I'll have other spare cluster stuff. Thanks yet again.
