temperature sensor 700 1988

My 1988 760 turbo wagon overheated and now that it is repaired the temp guage doesn't work and it runs rough. Does the same sensor operate the guage as well as the mixture and other stuff? I can only find one sensor on the intake side of the block. The only other might be the auxillary fan sensor in the radiator. Any ideas?
