Mix Volvo Coolant with Prestone or other? 200 1993

Thanks to all for advice on replacing the radiator in my 1993 245.
Just got a Nissens alum/plastic 2-row (I think) for $165 shipped in 2 days.

I have 1 gallon of Volvo Type C coolant on hand. I need ~5 qts more coolant according to Bentley manual.

Can I mix my 1 gallon Volvo Type C with Prestone? Or switch entirely to Prestone?

On that note, does anyone know why Dexcool won't work? (I saw that warning from earlier posts, and curious why).
