I'm not sure if a speedo is a legality matter. I thought it was just the drivers responsibility to not exceed the Limit.

I am a huge fan of the simplicity/ user friendliness of the Garmin Units.
If you are buying it just for a speedo. But an older, super basic C320 C330 or C340
Plug it into the cigarette lighter.. It turns on with the Ignition and off when you shut the car off.
