87-740 temp guage/wiring/sender?

I attempted making repairs to the harness and crossed the wires. Possibly the guage is toast.

My blue book doesnt have a wiring diagram of the circuit. I was trying to find out how the circuit gets its power. With my circuit tester Im not measuring any voltage at the sender.

I did resistance check on sender (cold 383ohms)(hot/1058ohms).

The blue book shows which harness the wires run through, where they attach to the guages, but I cant figure where the power comes from. My gut tells me that I need a another guage, but I want to be sure.
