TRE and Ball Joint question

I just replaced the TRe and ball joint on my '92 240 sedan and have the following questions:

I put the TRE on completely and I'm now having troulble getting the ball joint to line up with the control arm, should I disconnect the TRE and attach the ball joint first?

The new ball joint came with new bolts to attach it to the control arm, they seam to have a head that is too big, the original bolts nearest to the strut were a flat head type bolt, use the new or reuse the old?

Similar question for the four bolts that hold the ball joint to the strut mounting plate, Bentley says to NOT reuse the four bolts but new ones don't come with the ball joint, reuse the old or find new bolts?
