Looking to buy an 88 240 that "stalls when rains' because of a bad 'dist. cap' 200 1988

I've been in contact with a guy that is selling an 88 240 GLE locally that he claims has "a little problem in the distributor cap that when it rains heavy it make the car shut off other then that it runs like a champ". I would like to go take a look at it this weekend, and am wondering if there's anything specific I can look at -other than the cap, rotor, and wires- to diagnose a fix. I don't really believe it's the cap. That's such a cheap and easy fix, I would think that he would have tried it already. I've done a search and found a few posts, they all pointed at the 25A fuse by the battery. I'll check the condition of the holder to see if there's any wear evident. Is there anything else I could look at?
