Lately while starting the 1990 SW the rpms dip to about 100-200 before they level at standard 900 or so. TThe rpm does not always stay at 900 but sometimes it goes to 1000 or even higher for a second or two. Last evening I found code 232, rich/lean at idle. I think it should be due to an air leak which I could not find. Please confirm if this will be the most likely reason. Can it be the o2 sensors? I do not smell fuel or see smoke. I have emptied many brake cleaner cans trying the locate the leak, Intake gasket and TB gasket are two month old ( due to HG job)
This damn code comes back again and again and although accordian type intake hose looks good and I have it covered in all type of goop to account for any pin holes , is the likely suspect. Replacing it most likely will be like throwing parts at the car. I have the two thin vacuum hoses blocked, one from the canister and other from the PCV holder.
Any suggestions are welcome. So far this has been a common recurring problem with this car.
Regards,
