I spoke too soon....or only knocked on fake wood! 200 1990

Well, all my cheering and boasting and "look at all I did"...came to a halt this morning as I tried to start my 240. The engine really turned very fast and sounded normal but did not fire. I left it alone about ten minutes, to take a phone call and tried again and it started perfectly ran 15 seconds and died. Restarted once more and it started fine, ran 15 seconds and died. It will not start at all now no matter what. Rather than crying or cursing I thought I would call upon the many brainstrusts on Brickboard. Please help me.
