Brand preference for upper strut mount kit. Uro/ada/skf/volvo? 900 1994

Dear poonjab,

Hope you're well. In general, when a part is hard to get at, or where failure sidelines the car, use top-notch parts. Volvo parts qualify. For radiators, Nissens products, meet this test. Continental timing belts seem to be first-rate.

Where a part is easy to access and/or where failure isn't catastrophic (e.g., a transmission mount or the plastic under-engine protective cover), one can economize.

When it comes to strut mounts, I'd go with the Volvo brand item. Replacing a failed strut mount is a lot of hard work.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
