Hey man, I'm an analytical chemist. Don't tell me how clean the air is. I know what's in there. It's apparently not possible for you to believe that people who want to regulate pollution actually care about the planet, and want to preserve some of it for following generations. I'm not going to try and convince you. Maybe you don't have kids, or grandkids, but unless you're completely selfish you ought to give a damn about how carelessly we've fouled the nest.

I don't happen to agree with all the regulations imposed on me, either. But there's so many people in the world today, and so many more coming, that it's time to start analyzing the situation rationally and figuring out how to continue to survive, plain and simple.
