Starter end bracket and Story 900 1992

Starter end bracket is this really needed, my mechanic replaced my starter with a new one which i supplied. He charged me Two hours labor to remove and replace it.
I noticed my clock was 50 minutes slow so that must be how long it took him.I had asked for the old starter back and he didn't even re connect the end bracket on the new starter. Is this going to be a problem.
I rang him tonight, He told me it was a big job getting the old starter out, rusted in.I told him it should of been simple as he had it out four months ago when i had him rebuild it.I then said how come my clock is 50 minutes slow as the first and last thing you would do is disconnect and reconnect the battery. He then said i will call you tomorrow. Lets see what story he will say, should i make him reconnect the end bracket on the starter.
