1991 940 SE Ignition Key Will Not Turn At All 900 1991

Well, she has 250k + on her... Daily driver... Yesterday my wife drove her to work, no problems at all. At lunch time, she found that the ignition key would not turn at all. Cannot start the car, cannot take it out of park, nothing. When you insert the key, the chime starts as usual, but it simply will not turn. Wiggle the steering wheel, wiggle the gearshift, no change at all.

Any advice on where to begin?

I am thinking that the lock cylinder has broken. Had her turned towed home, and just ordered a replacement lock cylinder with key. But I am not looking forward to the replacement... does not look easy to remove the cylinder unless you can turn the key.

Thank you!
