ZDDP oil additives 700

Yes, your brick does have a form of them and what teh zinc does is leave a coating that protects when the wear surface runs dry, not a huge problem with the overhead cam /lifter bucket design as oil tends to pool up there, but these are engines that it wouldn't hurt to have the extra protection. You can get additives or you can just get synthetics that are still made to the old standard, I know Amsoil has a few oils that they left alone when teh new changes came out and are still made to the old spec.
